The ability to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own, encompassing environmental, social, and economic aspects.

Greenhouse gases (GHGs)

These are gases that accumulate in the Earth's atmosphere and trap the sun's infrared radiation such as carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), and fluorinated gases thereby retaining and increasing heat within the atmosphere.

Carbon footprint

The aggregate of greenhouse gas emissions generated directly and indirectly by an individual, group, or organization, or even by products and services.

Water footprint

Indicator that measures the total volume of freshwater used to produce goods and services. It is divided into blue, green, and grey footprints.

Circular economy

Economic model based on reducing, reusing, recycling, and regenerating products and materials to minimize waste and emissions.

Environmental impact

Consequence of human activities on the natural environment. It can be positive or negative, direct or indirect.
